The area was settled in the early 1800s and historic WhiteHall was officially established in 1873
with the addition of a post office. A prominent local family, the White’s, owned the general store and held community dances, and dance lessons, in the upstairs of their two-story home.
That’s how this community became known as WhiteHall.

This beautiful area has a very colorful past having had a black smith, ten-pin bowling alley, horse racing track, cotton gin and a saloon. Perhaps a dance hall is in WhiteHall’s future within the historic cotton gin.

The original WhiteHall Café came about because of the owner’s desire to have a special local establishment for fine quality fresh food. Today, most of the original café structure remains with the addition of a production kitchen and air conditioning to provide you the finest food and service in southeast Texas.
